Hero MotoCorp April 2025 Sales Overview

In April 2025, Hero MotoCorp recorded total domestic sales of 287,849 units, marking a 43.82% year-on-year decline from 512,394 units in April 2024. The company attributes this drop largely to “short-term supply alignment” and a planned reduction in production to match inventory levels.

Splendor: Still King, Despite a Dip

  • Units sold: 197,893

  • YoY change: –38.40% (down from 321,229)

  • Share of portfolio: 68.75%
Despite the slowdown, the Splendor remains Hero’s—and India’s—best-selling two-wheeler. Early in April, Hero refreshed its Splendor+ lineup with MY25 updates, including new graphics and enhanced features, to bolster demand.

Hero Vida E-Scooter: The Bright Spot

  • Units sold: 7,116

  • YoY change: +147.08% (up from 2,880)
Electric scooter sales surged, with the Vida more than doubling its April 2024 volumes. This comes ahead of the July 1, 2025 launch of the upgraded Vida VX2, which is already arriving at select showrooms.

Xtreme Family: Mixed Fortunes

  • Xtreme 125R: 11,923 units (–4.86% YoY from 12,532)

  • Xtreme 160/200: 1,823 units (+25.98% YoY from 1,446)
The core Xtreme 125R model saw a modest decline, while the higher-displacement Xtreme 160/200 grew sales by over a quarter, reflecting shifting customer interest within the performance-commuter segment.

Xpulse: Decline Continues

  • Units sold: 1,455

  • YoY change: –24.69% (down from 1,932)
Sales of the adventure-style Xpulse slipped nearly 25%, as competition intensifies in the mid-capacity motorcycle category.

Karizma: Awaiting a Comeback

Both the Karizma 210 and Maestro logged zero sales in April 2025, as Hero phases them out in anticipation of the upcoming Karizma XMR 250 launch later this year.

Looking Ahead

Hero MotoCorp deep cuts in production are intended to rebalance inventory and prepare for the mid-year roll-out of updated models like the Vida VX2 and Karizma XMR 250. While April’s numbers underline the challenges of aligning supply with demand, Hero MotoCorp strategic refreshes and the strong growth in its electric-scooter line suggest a more balanced performance in the months ahead.
